The Bachelor of Contemporary Music is structured to provide an industry-oriented education that prepares students for a professional journey in contemporary music. The program covers a diverse array of practical competencies, including performance, composition, arranging, and songwriting, while also familiarizing students with industry-standard recording and production software. In addition to these practical skills, students receive comprehensive training through courses in music and audio industry studies, music education, tour planning, and concert promotion. They also have the advantage of utilizing top-tier recording equipment and studios at SIT Sound, in partnership with audio production students.
Furthermore, SIT offers the possibility for students to earn a double degree in the Bachelor of Audio Production and Bachelor of Contemporary Music, which can be completed in four years of full-time study. Graduates from this combined program will be equipped as versatile musicians and sound engineers, adept in high-quality studio recording and live sound, and prepared to pursue careers as performers, composers, or specialized instrumental instructors.
