Curriculum Overview

Core Courses

You will undertake eight core courses, providing a comprehensive foundation in essential business areas. Topics covered include executive leadership, organizational culture and change, corporate financial management, strategic marketing, and digital transformation.

Elective Courses

You will select four elective courses from a variety of subjects, such as innovation and entrepreneurship, negotiation and dispute resolution, and strategic management.

Professional Development

Each core course includes professional development activities focused on personal growth, leadership, business acumen, and technology. Typically, the schedule for core courses is evenly divided between professional development and classroom instruction.

Workload

On average, you can expect to spend 10 to 12 hours per week per course, encompassing lectures, readings, assignments, and workshops. This may vary depending on specific course demands.

With an intensive study schedule, you will complete three courses per trimester over four trimesters, allowing you to earn your EMBA in approximately 18 months. Note that international students must enroll full-time.

Academic Requirements for International Students

To be admitted to this program, you must have:

– A Bachelor’s degree or a Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in Business Administration with a minimum B average
– At least five years of relevant work experience at a level deemed acceptable by the Academic Programme Leader
– Acceptance by the programme director as capable of undertaking the proposed course of study
– Proof of English proficiency

English Proficiency Requirements

You need one of the following:

– IELTS (Academic): Minimum overall score of 6.5 with no sub-score below 6.0
– TOEFL:Minimum score of 90 on the internet-based test, with at least 20 in writing
– Pearson Test of English: Minimum score of 58, with ‘Communicative’ scores not less than 50
– EAP: Minimum final scores of 4, 4, 5, 5
– Cambridge English Qualifications: C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency with a score of 176 or higher, with each skill score no less than 169
– New Zealand Certificates in English Language (NZCEL): Level 5 (Academic)
– NZAPA:English New Zealand Accredited Pathway Assessment Level 3 (with no skill lower than Level 2)
