Entry requirements

To be eligible for the GradDipTchgLn, applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree from Aotearoa New Zealand or an equivalent qualification.

Individuals who have relevant knowledge and current professional experience in technology and/or te reo Māori may qualify for the Secondary Education endorsement through the Alternate Entry Pathway, even if they do not hold a bachelor’s degree. A specific application process is in place to evaluate their eligibility.

For those seeking entry into the Secondary Education endorsement, it is necessary to have a foundational knowledge from prior studies in a subject pertinent to the secondary school curriculum, such as te reo Māori, English, mathematics, chemistry, or history. Candidates wishing to pursue the Primary endorsement must provide evidence of their mathematical proficiency.
