Entry requirements

Academic requirements:

-Must be at least 16 years of age on the date of the programme’s commencement.

-Students must have a recognised undergraduate degree in the discipline of architecture with a grade point average of 4.0 or higher for all level 7 courses.

International equivalence

– To enter Otago Polytechnic’s undergraduate certificates, diplomas and degrees, you need to have achieved a secondary school qualification that is equivalent to New Zealand’s NCEA levels (National Certificate of Educational Achievement).

English Language requirements

-Students must have achieved a minimum standard of English as demonstrated by a minimum of 8 credits at NCEA Level 2 in English (4 in Reading, 4 in Writing).

If English is not the first language, students must provide:

-New Zealand University Entrance OR

-Overall Academic IELTS 6.5 (academic, no band score lower than 6.0) achieved in one test completed in the last two years, OR

-Acceptable alternative evidence of the required IELTS
