The Master of Business Administration (Otago MBA) is a rigorous two-phase program. Phase One involves ten months of on-campus study of core subjects. This is followed by a highly adaptable Phase Two, which can include on-campus electives, an international exchange, or a business project, lasting between six to twelve months.
Our MBA program extends beyond academics to offer career development guidance, practical experience, and networking opportunities.
Lecturers for the Otago MBA are selected from three sources: the University, other esteemed global business schools, and experienced consultants or business practitioners. They are chosen for their academic excellence and practical business experience. The small class size ensures personalized mentoring and guidance from the faculty.
The learning style is highly interactive, allowing participants to learn as much from each other as from the course leader or facilitator. Students are grouped into teams that reflect a diversity of professional and educational backgrounds, demographics, and work style preferences. These teams collaborate on projects, presentations, and assignments to apply the business knowledge gained in class to real-world settings, while also developing skills in time management, conflict resolution, and problem-solving.
