Graduates of the Master of Community Dentistry (MComDent) can pursue various career opportunities, including roles such as Public Health Dentist, Community Dental Health Coordinator, Dental Public Health Specialist, Epidemiologist, Dental Health Policy Advisor, Research Scientist in Oral Health, Academic Lecturer, Program Director for Dental Health Programs, and Consultant in Community Dentistry. These positions are available in public health organizations, academic institutions, research facilities, and governmental or non-governmental health agencies.
Admission to the program requires approval from the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Health Sciences).
Candidates applying for the 240-point program, which includes both coursework and a thesis, will be assessed based on their previous academic record (including a completed Bachelor of Dental Surgery or equivalent with a grade average of B+ or higher), their graduate experience and achievements, commitment to ongoing education in Public Health and Community Dentistry, reports from three referees, and meeting postgraduate English language requirements (if applicable).
For admission to the 120-point thesis program, candidates must have completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Community Dentistry or an equivalent qualification with a grade average of B+ or higher.
