The Master of Counselling program provides an opportunity to enhance your theoretical knowledge and professional competencies, enabling you to serve as a counsellor across diverse environments. You will receive training to recognize systematic and effective methods for assisting clients in discovering straightforward and acceptable solutions to their present issues and challenges.

Entry requirements

Individuals seeking to enroll in the MCouns program must meet one of the following criteria:

-a degree from Aotearoa New Zealand, accompanied by relevant experience in counselling, teaching, nursing, social work, or a comparable field,

-or have been assessed as suitable for training as a counsellor; or other recognized qualifications of an equivalent standard.

If English is your additional language, you are also required to meet UC’s English language requirements. University recognises the following English Language tests and courses:
