Emergency management focuses on organizing communities to effectively respond to disasters. It involves strategies for survival, rebuilding social structures and infrastructure, and sustaining and preserving life during and after such events.

Yyou will acquire comprehensive knowledge of various emergency management issues, practices, and policies, with the Master of Emergency Management.

The Master of Emergency Management program provides both coursework and research pathway options. This master’s program will equip you with skills in:

Entry requirements

To enter the Master of Emergency Management you will have:

  • been awarded or qualified for an undergraduate degree with a minimum B grade average across the 200/300 level major courses, and
    at least two years relevant industry or professional experience, or
  • been awarded or qualified for a Postgraduate Diploma in Emergency Management or equivalent, with at least a B grade average.
  • If you have been awarded or qualified for a Postgraduate Diploma in Emergency Management at Massey University as outlined above, you may apply for credit towards Part One of the qualification.

You must also meet the University’s English Language proficiency requirements. Recognised English language examinations:
