The Master of Fine Arts (MFA) program provides a valuable opportunity for students interested in pursuing careers as professional artists, scholars, designers, filmmakers, or photographers. This Master’s degree encourages participants to delve into contemporary trends, develop their individual ideas, and bolster their confidence in public environments. The University of Canterbury offers the MFA in disciplines such as Moving Image, Graphic Design, Painting, Photography, and Sculpture. The Fine Arts program allows students to gain essential exhibition experience through a sustained professional relationship with Te Puna o WaiwhetÅ« | Christchurch Art Gallery. Additionally, there is an artist-in-residence program

Entry requirements

It is necessary to have obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours, or a comparable degree with strong academic performance in relevant disciplines; or, you may qualify through considerable professional practice or teaching experience.
