The Master of Fire Engineering Studies (MFireEngSt) focuses on the assessment and design of high-performance structures that incorporate sustainable and fire-resistant materials. This taught master’s degree is intended for individuals with degrees in Science and Engineering who wish to concentrate their careers on the design of fire control and smoke safety systems in buildings, which includes elements such as detection systems, ventilation, heat transfer and release, along with suppression and extinguishing technologies.

The hands-on experiences gained through this degree will equip you to address industry requirements and adhere to the regulations and protocols associated with fire safety and engineering. You will collaborate with insurance firms, construction entities, emergency services, and research organizations.

You will need to have previously complete either a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours, a Bachelor of Science with Honours, a Postgraduate Certificate in Engineering (with at least a GPA of 5.0), or equivalent degree study to enrol.
