Master of Oral Health (MOH)

Graduates of the Master of Oral Health (MOH) program will acquire advanced knowledge, skills, and competencies in dental therapy and dental hygiene practice.

Course description

The graduate will exhibit a high standard of research-informed clinical practice, effectively implement an oral health promotion project, produce research outputs at Level 9 NZQF suitable for international peer-reviewed publications and presentations, and be prepared to undertake doctoral-level postgraduate study.

Entry requirements
  • Admission to the program requires approval from the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Health Sciences).
  • Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Oral Health degree from the University of Otago or another approved oral health qualification and be registered in dental hygiene and/or dental therapy practice in their country of residence.
  • Additionally, applicants must have achieved a minimum grade point average of B in the final year of their qualifying degree or qualification.
  • Admission is restricted to a maximum of six candidates per year.
