Master of Professional Accounting (CPA)

Lincoln University is the only Registered Tuition Provider offering the CPA Australia Approved integrated course in New Zealand. You will develop communication, negotiation, people management skills, as well as gain expertise in strategic thinking.

Course description

The Master of Professional Accounting (CPA) enriches your understanding and broadens your horizons, while also assisting you in obtaining the esteemed CPA recognition highly regarded in the corporate world, among accounting firms, global consultancies, and industry. Upon successful completion of Lincoln’s Master of Professional Accounting program, graduates are eligible for full CPA Australia membership after acquiring three years of work experience.

This is achieved through the process of completing a Master’s degree in conjunction with the CPA Program® examinations. The program also includes tailored teaching to support your preparation for the CPA exams. With a combination of in-person interactive learning sessions and the CPA Program® distance study program, you will develop the skills to apply strategic leadership to business challenges and opportunities both in New Zealand and globally. Furthermore, you will enhance your communication, negotiation, and people management abilities.

Career Prospects

A relevant New Zealand level 7 bachelor’s degree or recognised equivalent with a B average or better in the 300 level and final year (full-time equivalent) courses.

If English isn’t your first language, other entry requirements will apply. English Language tests recognised by the University:

-Lincoln University English Language- GCAE or LU EL 70%
-IELTS (Academic)- 6.5 overall, with no individual component less than 6.0
-TOEFL iBT- Overall score of 80 (with at least 21 in Writing and 18 in Speaking)
-Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) and First (FCE)- Overall score of 176, with no individual component less than 169
-Pearson Test of English (Academic)- 58 overall score – with no communicative skill less than 50
-NZ Certificates in English Language (NZCEL)- Level 5 (Academic or ProfessionalEndorsement)

The combination of CPA designation and a Master’s degree from Lincoln will open up senior management opportunities at home and abroad, in accounting firms, consulting firms and industry.
