This program will enhance your critical understanding of research-based teaching methods, learning theory, inquiry skills, and content knowledge, enabling you to effectively teach diverse learners in New Zealand schools.
You will gain valuable practical experience through 80 days in the classroom, across two different schools, supported by Te Kura Toi Tangata School of Education lecturers and Mentor Teachers.
The curriculum includes eleven 500-level postgraduate papers (180 points) covering topics such as teaching within the New Zealand context, evidence-based inquiry, teaching diverse learners, and curriculum design and implementation. The Master of Teaching and Learning is an intensive program for high achievers, with more stringent entry requirements compared to the Graduate Diploma in Teaching.
Please note: This program builds upon the Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching with an additional 30-point paper.
