Master of Urban Resilience and Renewal

The Master of Urban Resilience and Renewal (MURR) program at UC is well-suited for individuals seeking to tackle comprehensive urban challenges and actively participate in community engagement.

Course description

Urban centers are increasingly facing challenges such as flood risks, coastal erosion, and rising sea levels. These issues are often compounded by demographic growth and urban expansion in many developing regions. While many postgraduate programs at universities focus on local planning legislation, there is a distinct lack of programs that specifically explore how communities respond to the challenges confronting cities today.

This program will be of particular interest to students who wish to engage with broader urban issues and collaborate with communities. The Master of Urban Resilience and Renewal (MURR) will focus on: the urban renewal efforts in ÅŒtautahi Christchurch.
