This foundational qualification is intended for individuals currently employed in or aspiring to pursue a career in supporting the health and wellbeing of individuals, families, and the broader community. The Social Services specialization will enable you to operate within a social services or community environment, promoting autonomy by employing various tools and strategies aimed at reducing vulnerability and enhancing resilience.
Students will gain insights into Social Services, Abuse and Violence, Ethical Practice and Professionalism, Te Tiriti O Waitangi and Bicultural Practice, as well as Professional and Reflective Practice.
It is important to note that this qualification does not confer professional registration or a clinical scope of practice; however, it will prepare you to work within organizations in the health and wellbeing sectors.
