This program has a limited capacity, accepting only 16 participants annually. A specific application process is necessary. Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications:
– An honours degree in Psychology (either a Bachelor of Arts with Honours or a Bachelor of Science with Honours); or
– Completion of Part I of a master’s degree in Psychology from a university in Aotearoa New Zealand (Master of Arts or Master of Science); or
– An equivalent qualification that is recognized by the University and sanctioned by the Head of Department. For those whose first language is not English, it is essential to comply with the New Zealand Psychologists Board’s requirements and submit proof of an IELTS (academic) score of 7.5, with no individual score below 7.0.
*It is important to note that to qualify for registration as a psychologist with the New Zealand Psychologists Board under the Clinical Scope of Practice, applicants must meet specific criteria, including a minimum academic qualification (a master’s degree) and a requisite number of supervised practice hours.
