Clinical psychology is recognized as an applied science grounded in empirical evidence, prioritizing objective data to facilitate the assessment and treatment of individuals facing psychological challenges in their lives. Training in this field follows the ‘Boulder model,’ which focuses on leveraging research-based knowledge to cultivate practical skills. The integration of scientific inquiry and clinical practice is paramount, ensuring that research informs clinical work, while practical experiences and challenges shape relevant research questions. Consequently, clinical psychologists must receive comprehensive training that encompasses both practical application and research methodologies, as well as their integration.
