About

Kalandra Education Group is a specialist healthcare training provider dedicated to enhancing the lives of vulnerable individuals both in New Zealand and internationally. Established in 2016, Kalandra is registered and accredited by the New Zealand Qualification Authority (NZQA). The organisation was founded by Chief Executive Dr. Christine Clark, who identified a need to improve the capabilities of Health Care Assistants in aged residential care. Kalandra operates with core values of respect, trust, caring, and love, aiming to provide innovative training that emphasises the importance of compassionate care for vulnerable populations.

Graduates of Kalandra’s programmes are well-prepared for various roles in the healthcare sector, including positions as Healthcare Assistants in aged care, primary and acute care, therapeutic programme care, community support workers, medical practice assistants, and homecare support workers.

Rankings and reputation

The institution boasts a high employment rate, with 95% of graduates securing positions in the healthcare field. Career support services are also available, offering assistance with CV preparation, job searches, networking opportunities, and introductions to potential employers.

Campuses

While Kalandra’s main campus located in Auckland, many of its programmes are delivered all or partly online, removing geographic barriers and allowing students worldwide to benefit from its training. This online delivery model enables students to study without disrupting their current employment. Kalandra’s commitment to improving the quality of care for vulnerable individuals extends beyond New Zealand, with initiatives such as offering scholarships for international students and collaborating with global healthcare organisations. Note that to obtain a student visa to study at Kalandra, you will need to study full time onshore, in New Zealand, or part-time if you are currently on a work visa.
