Programme
February
Environmental Science involves understanding how humans interact with and alter the natural environment. It encompasses various scientific disciplines, including biology, chemistry, geography, mathematics, and physics.
By pursuing a postgraduate program in Environmental Science, you will learn to evaluate environmental issues and work towards the protection and preservation of our natural treasures.
Many of New Zealand’s primary industries, such as agriculture, mining, forestry, and fisheries, significantly impact the environment. Additionally, introduced predators threaten native wildlife and ecosystems.
As a Master of Environmental Science student, you will have the chance to conduct fieldwork, such as monitoring the quality of waterways, soil, or air. You will gain knowledge of the tools and techniques to mitigate human environmental impact and learn to analyze complex data sets, draw conclusions, and communicate scientific findings to influence policy and regulatory changes.
Graduates with a Master of Environmental Science can pursue careers as environmental consultants, conservation and wildlife managers, environmental policy advisors, sustainable development coordinators, environmental educators, researchers, and academic faculty members.
