This foundational qualification is intended for individuals currently employed in, or those aspiring to pursue a career in, the support of health and wellbeing for individuals, families, and the broader community. The Mental Health and Addiction Support program will enable you to operate within a mental health and addiction environment, promoting autonomy through the application of various tools and strategies aimed at instilling hope, facilitating recovery, and enhancing resilience. You will gain knowledge in Mental Health & Addictions, Ethical practice and professionalism, Te Tiriti O Waitangi and bi-cultural practice, as well as Professional and reflective practice.
It is important to note that this qualification does not confer professional registration or a clinical scope of practice; however, it will equip you to work within organizations in the health and wellbeing sectors.
Graduates from the Mental Health and Addiction Support program will have the opportunity to pursue employment within the health and wellbeing sector, engaging in roles that assist individuals, promote hope, and facilitate recovery, particularly in the areas of mental health and addiction support.
Open to mature aged applicants (20 years of age and above) due to the complex psychosocial nature of this work.
Non-native English speakers must provide proof of proficiency through one of the following:
IELTS Test-
