The New Zealand Diploma in Animation Level 5 is a comprehensive one-year program designed to foster creativity through the application of cutting-edge techniques and technologies. From the outset, students will immerse themselves in teamwork and collaboration, honing essential creative problem-solving abilities that are crucial for success in the screen and animation sectors.
Students will acquire hands-on experience in both 3D and Visual Effects art, enabling them to craft compelling storytelling experiences tailored to a diverse array of audiences. The curriculum includes opportunities for both individual and group projects, ensuring that students gain a broad spectrum of skills and experiences that will equip them for a fulfilling and innovative career. The curriculum encompasses, Character development and narrative construction., Modelling and texturing, Rigging and animation techniques, Lighting, rendering, and surfacing, Compositing and visual effects, Studio and digital illustration, Skills in communication, project management, leadership, and team dynamics.
The objective of this qualification is to equip individuals aspiring to enter the animation industry with a fundamental set of specialized skills and knowledge essential for employment, as well as to serve as a foundation for advanced studies in 3D animation and gaming.
Priority will be afforded to applicants who have successfully obtained the New Zealand Diploma in Animation (Level 5) or an equivalent qualification.
Non-native English speakers must provide proof of proficiency through one of the following:
IELTS Test – Academic score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5.0
PTE (Academic) score of 42 with no band score lower than 36
