Students will engage in a research-oriented learning environment, enhancing their area of expertise through dedicated research in their selected field. They will conduct a comprehensive and independent investigation within their chosen discipline, which may include communication, design, music, or visual arts. This program is designed to equip students for advanced inquiry and intervention in their respective academic or professional domains.
Masters students will benefit from supervision that encompasses both practical and theoretical aspects of their studies. Additional guidance is available from external professionals in the student’s field, as well as for those interested in employing Kaupapa Māori methodologies in their research. Regular formal and informal meetings, along with critiques involving faculty and peers, will facilitate discussions about their work, enabling students to analyze, assess, and articulate their research practices. The learning environment is characterized by support, positivity, diversity, and active engagement, fostering contributions from both staff and students.
The Media Arts facilities are accessible to students based on the specific needs and nature of their projects.
