Course description

The Master of Engineering program aims to assist students in honing their research abilities and expanding their expertise in the engineering domain. Students can choose between two tracks: Research (which involves a thesis) or Coursework (which involves a research project). AUT is privileged to host several globally recognized research institutes and centers, where numerous students undertake their research projects in partnership with these esteemed research organizations. AUT excels in various engineering fields, including telecommunications, materials and manufacturing technologies, industrial optimization, as well as engines and vehicles.

Entry requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is typically required for applicants.

Applicants must have successfully completed a high level of calculus, comparable to NZQF Level 6.

Applicants pursuing the research pathway must also provide a Postgraduate Research Proposal (PGR1 form) prior to beginning their thesis.

Applicants must also meet University’s English Language requirements. AUT recognises IELTS (Academic) of 6.5 overall with all bands 6.0 or higher;or equivalent
