The demand for research skills in medical laboratory science is high in the industry. With evolving technologies and changing diagnostic services, medical laboratory scientists are encountering new challenges. There is a need for top-level evaluative and management skills, as well as specialized skills in research and development. The Master of Medical Laboratory Science provides the necessary skills to capitalize on these opportunities. This program is available to all medical laboratory scientists (with New Zealand registration and a practicing certificate). Participants can choose between a management or specialized scientist pathway.

Successfully finished the Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science with a B grade average or above in level 7 courses, or its equivalent
Registered as a Medical Laboratory Scientist with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand (MSCNZ)
Possess a valid Practising Certificate as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, granted by the MSCNZ.
You must also meet University’s English Language requirements. AUT recognises IELTS (Academic) of 6.5 overall with all bands 6.0 or higher;or equivalent
