Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT) is a public tertiary education institution located at the northern tip of New Zealand’s South Island. The main campus is situated in Nelson, with additional campuses in Blenheim, Marlborough, Woodbourne, and Richmond. Since its establishment in 1904, NMIT has been providing tertiary education in the Nelson-Marlborough region.
NMIT offers around 100 programmes at certificate, diploma, and degree levels across diverse fields, attracting approximately 3,000 full-time equivalent students annually from local, national, and international backgrounds. The region’s economy thrives on the country’s largest fisheries, wine, and aquaculture sectors. Additionally, forestry, horticulture, aviation, tourism, arts, and a significant conservation estate, including three national parks, contribute to the local economy.
