This degree in teacher education includes 25 weeks of hands-on teaching placements, providing you with valuable practical experience in the field. As a result, you will graduate with confidence in your teaching abilities and readiness to make a positive impact in the classroom.
Early Childhood Teaching
Primary Teaching
Certain occupations require registration by law in New Zealand and certain programmes lead to registration. For this programme, the registration pathway or body is: New Zealand Teaching Council.
Graduates are eligible to apply for provisional teacher registration. Based on the specialization, career oppurtunities include working as:
-Teaching in an early childhood centre
-With experience, management of an early childhood centre
-Teaching in a primary or intermediate school
Minimum Entry requirements
-There are specific secondary and tertiary academic prerequisites that depend on the country where the initial education was completed.
English language requirements
-IELTS (Academic) 6.0 overall with all bands 5.5 or higher; or equivalent.
In addition, Teaching Council compliance requirements need to be successfully completed.
